Competence Assessment for Nanophotonics Application and Research Center

To increase the efficiency and sustainability of the research infrastructures in the higher education institution; according to the Law No. 6550 on the Evaluation of Research Infrastructures, which regulates issues such as financing, management, personnel monitoring, and evaluation, TUBITAK-ARGES, TUBITAK-TÜSSİDE, Presidency of Strategy and Budget within the scope of the adequacy assessment of the Nanophotonics Application and Research Center (CUNAM) within the body of Cumhuriyet University. After the visit, a team of 11 people, consisting of representatives of the referee committee, together with the Rector Prof. Dr. Alim Yıldız, made investigations at Cumhuriyet University Nanophotonics Application and Research Center. In addition to Rector Yıldız, CUNAM Director Asst. Prof. Ilkay Demir and ASELSAN-MGEO Microelectronics Program Director Dr. Oguz Altun and delegation members attended the program held at the Nanophotonics Application and Research Center.

At the meeting, Rector Yıldız informed the delegation about the scientific studies and developments at the university, and said, “We are rapidly continuing the activities aimed at the needs of our country and our province, where the studies of Sivas Cumhuriyet University Sivas in many fields from education to health, from industry to sports are supported. I declare that we will be a supporter of all kinds of projects that will contribute to our country and Sivas, and I present my respects to you all.” said. 

CUNAM Manager Demir made a detailed presentation on why the projects carried out/executed in the CUNAM infrastructure are of critical importance for the country. ASELSAN MGEO Director Dr. Oğuz Altun also talked about the ASELSAN and CUNAM collaborations and the importance of the projects carried out for the country and made a presentation on the critical importance of the CUNAM team and infrastructure. After the meeting, the delegation visited the laboratories within the Nanophotonics Application and Research Center and received information from the authorities.
