ABOUT CÜNAM
CÜNAM is a pioneering research infrastructure supported under Law No. 6550, conducting semiconductor-based, advanced technology research, development, and production activities in the field of photonics.
CÜNAM produces high-crystalline-quality epitaxial thin films for advanced technologies such as quantum cascade lasers, short-wave infrared detectors, laser diodes, and solar cells. Thanks to its extensive research infrastructure, the center also analyzes these thin films using a wide range of structural, electrical, optical, and surface characterization methods.
By providing research opportunities for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral-level researchers, CÜNAM aims to increase Türkiye’s highly qualified human resources in the semiconductor field.
While contributing to Türkiye’s scientific and technological development, CÜNAM also supports the defense industry and domestic production projects. Collaborating with institutions such as TÜBİTAK, the Presidency of Defence Industries, and ASELSAN, CÜNAM plays a significant role in numerous projects and serves as a critical research center capable of producing high-quality semiconductor crystals.
