TÜBİTAK 2232-A and 2232-B International Researcher Programs 2024 Second Term Calls are Open for Applications

CÜNAM, which holds the status of “National Research Infrastructure” under Law No. 6550, is a leading research center that conducts worldwide epitaxial wafer production. Our center possesses a strong infrastructure, especially in the fields of epitaxial growth using Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) systems and material characterization. Our research focus is on epitaxial growth processes and characterizations of III-V semiconductors, contributing to the development of optoelectronic and electronic device technologies.

Our Research Areas:

• Short and extended wavelength infrared photodetectors
• Quantum cascade lasers
• Vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs)
• High-efficiency tandem solar cells
• Ultraviolet and blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs)
• Semiconductor diode lasers
• Next-generation high-bandgap materials

CÜNAM aims to bring expert researchers to our country under the “2232-A International Leader Researchers Program and 2232-B International Young Researchers Program.” We are seeking collaborators who wish to participate in strategically important projects, conduct advanced scientific studies, and carry out world-class research.

Under the TÜBİTAK 2232 A and B programs:

The programs aim to encourage qualified researchers, especially Turkish scientists who have gained international recognition for their high-level scientific and/or technological work and have international work experience, to come to Turkey. These researchers will contribute to projects in strategically important research fields, and continue their work in leading state or foundation universities in Turkey, research infrastructures accredited under the 6550 framework, public research institutes, R&D or design centers of private sector organizations, or in capital companies located in technoparks.

TÜBİTAK 2232 A and B Program Support Includes:

• Grant for the Principal Investigator
• Family Living Allowance for the Principal Investigator’s spouse and children (if applicable)
• Research Start-up Package
• Research Project Support
• Research Team Formation Support (up to five scholarship holders for the research team, including graduate students and post-doctoral researchers)
• Project Incentive Award (PIA) for researchers involved in the project
• Institutional Share for the host institution
• Health insurance support for the Principal Investigator and their family
• Travel support for the Principal Investigator and their family
• Mentorship Support

Note: Up to two of the scholarship holders in the project team can be master’s students, and one can be a postdoctoral researcher. The support duration for projects is between 24 to 36 months.
