CÜNAM Hosts Advanced Technology and R&D Introduction for Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students

18 May 2026

A group of approximately 45 students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sivas Cumhuriyet University visited CÜNAM to learn about our center’s research infrastructure, advanced technology-oriented studies, and activities supporting university-industry collaboration.

Within the scope of the visit program, technical information was shared with the students on semiconductor technologies, photonic systems, SWIR photodetectors, Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCL), and high-technology applications developed for the defense industry.

Throughout the program, the research, development, fabrication, and characterization processes carried out within CÜNAM were introduced, together with evaluations on the technology development approach extending from fundamental research to prototype development and product-oriented outcomes.

As part of the laboratory tour, the students had the opportunity to examine the advanced fabrication and characterization infrastructure available at our center. During the tour, CÜNAM researchers and engineers provided technical information on the operating principles, application areas, and roles of the laboratory equipment in ongoing R&D processes.

The students showed particular interest in semiconductor fabrication, sensor technologies, optoelectronic systems, and photonics-based applications.

As CÜNAM, we will continue to contribute to the training of qualified human resources in advanced technology fields, bring young engineer candidates together with research infrastructures, and support studies that add value to our country’s technology development ecosystem.
