Required Qualifications
Education
- Ph.D. degree in Physics, Physics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, or in related fields such as semiconductor technologies, photonics, optoelectronics, and quantum technologies.
Experience
- A minimum of 4 years of post-doctoral research or industrial R&D experience in relevant fields at national/international centers.
- Proven experience in coordinating research teams, managing laboratory operations, and executing projects.
- Having established or managed a research group is highly preferred.
Project Development and Management
- The candidate is expected to have active leadership experience in the development, execution, and conclusion of high-budget, multi-partner, and strategic research projects within competitive national/international funding programs such as TÜBİTAK, the European Union, Horizon Europe, the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), or equivalent frameworks.
- Within this scope, direct responsibility in project idea generation, call analysis, consortium development, technical work package design, budget and resource planning, research team coordination, interim/final reporting, as well as deliverable and risk management is required.
- Having served as a principal investigator (PI), coordinator, work package leader, key researcher, or technical leader in large-scale projects, and having contributed to the transformation of project outputs into publications, patents, prototypes, Technology Readiness Level (TRL) advancements, industrial applications, or commercialization processes is a strong asset.
Publication and Citation
- A strong publication and citation record with high-quality scientific work published in international peer-reviewed journals indexed in SCI/SCI-E.
Language
- Advanced proficiency in English (the capacity to fully conduct presentations, reporting, and project proposal writing processes in English).
Technical Competencies
Advanced expertise and hands-on experience in at least one of the following research infrastructures and fields:
- III-V semiconductor materials, heterostructures, quantum structures, and related device technologies.
- Epitaxial growth techniques (MOCVD/MOVPE, MBE, etc.) and process development studies.
- Structural, optical, and electrical characterization of semiconductor materials (HR-XRD, XRD, AFM, SEM, TEM, Raman, PL, Hall, ECV, etc.).
- Material and device development for nanophotonics, optoelectronics, and quantum technologies.
- Design, fabrication, and performance analysis of semiconductor lasers, photodetectors, and related photonic devices.
- Micro/nano fabrication, cleanroom processes, and semiconductor device manufacturing technologies.
- Modeling, simulation, and design studies for semiconductor materials and devices.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience spanning the entire semiconductor technology development cycle—from epitaxial growth to characterization, device fabrication, and performance analysis—is highly preferred.
